Lage
Stahnsdorf is a municipality with around 15,500 inhabitants on the south-western outskirts of Berlin, located on the so-called "Teltow", a plateau to the south of the Spree valley, surrounded by the Nuthe and Havel rivers to the west. The district of Stahnsdorf is located on an old trade route coming from Leipzig, which led through the small town via Anger and on to Berlin-Spandau via Stahnsdorf. The nearest highway junctions are Kleinmachnow and Potsdam-Babelsberg on the A115. In the town center you will find various supermarkets, a pharmacy, stores for horse riding and cycling, fitness equipment, toys, children's clothing as well as a building materials store, a tiler and a cabinet maker.
For more extensive shopping, the Stern-Center shopping center in Potsdam is an easy-to-reach recommendation. There are over 80 stores here that should cover every need. There are numerous sports clubs (horse riding, basketball, handball, soccer, rowing, table tennis, gymnastics, aerobics, children's dancing, senior sports). The Güterfelder Haussee, a paradise for swimmers, is just a few minutes' walk away.
Stahnsdorf offers many cultural attractions. The old village green, for example, is the village's most valuable cultural asset. The Romanesque fieldstone church, which is more than 700 years old, has retained its austere architectural clarity over the centuries. The most striking building is Güterfelde Castle, which was completed in 1804. There are three nature parks and several nature reserves in the surrounding area of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is around 30 minutes away by car. Berlin's Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg and Potsdam Central Station are also within easy reach in approx. 14 minutes by car. In addition to the connection of S-Bahn and bus lines 627, 601, X1, which serves that direction. The capital metropolis of Berlin and the Brandenburg state capital of Potsdam are in good and close proximity.
