A fully renovated townhouse with a garden, in Trouville, a short walk from the beach and station.
The legendary seaside resort on the Côte Fleurie coastline is two hours from Paris by car or two hours and ten minutes by train from Paris Saint Lazare station. It is one of the most distinctive places in the Pays d'Auge area and its lush, flowery countryside.
On a street near to the quays, the façade of a belle époque building with a sloping roof rises up. A large carriage gate opens into a covered passage that leads to a courtyard with paved paths and lawns. At the end of the courtyard, the house and its garden stands behind a wooden fence.
The houseThis two-storey home has been entirely renovated with the focus light and independence. The gabled roof as well as the shingle on one half of the gable end are made of slate tiles. Along the façade, a large, smooth-flowing, wooden gallery overhangs the bedroom windows and the entrance door. It is crowned by a balcony which is in turn topped by a slate tiled awning.
The garden-level floor
After the gate through the wooden fence, a path covered with wooden battens runs between the garden and the rooms on this storey. Rather uniquely, the ground floor houses three bedrooms in addition to the entrance. Two of the bedrooms can only be reached via the exterior and are bathed in light through large sliding patio doors. A shower, sink and lavatory are hidden behind sections of the wall. The walls are painted white and the floors are made of polished concrete. A large, glazed door opens into the entrance, which leads to the third bedroom, laid out and decorated identically to the others, as well as a lavatory and the bottom of the wrought-iron staircase.
The first floor
This level is made up of a single room and has been designed to provide a maximum amount of volume, with a cathedral ceiling that boasts exposed trusses. It is generously flooded with light thanks to sliding patio door style windows all along the balcony. As with the ground floor, the walls are painted white and there is a polished concrete floor. An open-plan kitchen is situated at the end of the room.
